This month, our host Anna will walk you through updates in SAS Viya 2021.1.5 across DataOps, artificial intelligence and ModelOps. You’ll learn about new support in SAS/ACCESS for DataBricks plus Synapse on Spark and how to use SAS Visual Analytics for automatically generated forecasts with natural language explanation. Hear about SAS Information Governance features including enhancements for administrators, studio flows available in catalog search and added security. Our product managers will get you up to speed on GANs models, open source lightGBM, saving decision tree models as an astore and assessing predictive models for bias from SAS Visual Data Mining and Machine Learning. We’ll end the show with a conversation about Python integration in SAS Studio, so you can easily add Python code into your SAS work.
Rundown:
◉ Integrate with two key data platforms in SAS/ACCESS, Azure Synapse and DataBricks on Azure, GCP and AWS to maximize data processing performance and minimize cost.
◉ SAS Visual Analytics has introduced natural language explanation of your data in a dashboard, including recognizing when forecasting summaries are needed. Plus, added control over how business metrics are displayed and exporting report packages within UI.
◉ Learn about SAS Information Governance and build on capabilities introduced in last month’s Release Talk like improved search for data stewards or data admins, including search for studio flows and control over user authorization in search results.
◉ See updates in SAS Visual Data Mining and Machine learning including training on lightGBM algorithms to develop gradient boosting machine models with open source, saving decision tree models as an astore, GANs for synthetic data generation, and assessments around responsible AI to determine bias in predictive models.

Release Talk:
Updates to SAS Studio have made it easy for a SAS user to incorporate Python processing into their current SAS workloads. In SAS, users can create a Python program and submit Python syntax into SAS, which automatically takes care of wrapping and transitioning between Python and SAS. This gives us the ability to use Python in the ways that it performs well and bring it into a SAS dataset.
