1) Marseille ready to make £25m bid for Arsenal starlet William Saliba
Marseille are ready to make a £25m bid for William Saliba with the Arsenal defender open to returning to the Ligue 1 side, according to a report from the Sunday Mirror (26/6; page 77).
Saliba’s future looks set to remain uncertain up until the moment he either leaves or the window shuts. The centre-back is still awaiting the chance to make his first-team debut for the Gunners. And with that, it is not entirely clear how highly Mikel Arteta rates the Frenchman.
2) Serie A side eyeing move to sign Arsenal squad player
Hellas Verona are claimed to be eyeing a move to sign Arsenal’s Pablo Mari.
The defender was one of Mikel Arteta first signings, joining on an initial loan deal from Flamengo a month into the Spaniard’s reign in north London, but found himself surplus to requirements last term as Gabriel Magalhaes and Ben White formed a strong partnership at the back.
3) Insider claims Arsenal are ‘disappointed’ with South American’s failed move
Charles Watts claims that Arsenal are really disappointed that Fiorentina opted against triggering their option to buy Lucas Torreira following an impressive loan spell.
The Uruguayan midfielder has spent the last two years on loan, enjoying a La Liga winning campaign with Atletico Madrid before returning to Serie A to impress for La Viola, and it was a surprise when they opted against meeting his pre-agreed fee to sign him on a permanent basis.
4) Journalist says Arsenal have pulled plug on move for Youri Tielemans
Journalist Ryan Taylor has told Give Me Sport that Arsenal have pulled the plug on their move to sign Youri Tielemans, and claimed that a deal has never been as close as some may have thought.
For much of the summer, it appeared to be a matter of time before Tielemans would move to Arsenal. In fact, reports in May claimed that the Gunners were growing increasingly confident of completing a £40 million deal.
5) Arsenal will make near £50m bid this week for Raphinha
Arsenal are preparing to make a new offer for Leeds United winger Raphinha this week, with the Gunners expected to get closer to the £50m mark.
The Daily Mail has reported that Arsenal intend on going back to Leeds with a new offer for Raphinha after initially seeing a £30m plus add-ons bid rejected. It’s claimed the Gunners will go back with something closer to £50m as they hope to tempt Leeds.
6) Arsenal confident of signing versatile £40m Argentine defender
The latest in the club’s transfer activity comes from The Express, who are reporting that following recent talks with the South American’s representatives, Arsenal are growing increasingly more confident that they’ll be able to lure Lisandro Martinez to the country’s capital in time for next season.
It has been suggested that a bid of around £40m would be enough to push Ajax into selling the highly-rated defender, who can play in multiple positions, including centre-back, defensive midfielder and left-back.
7) Arsenal agree £45m Jesus transfer fee with Man City
Arsenal have agreed a £45 million ($55m) deal with Manchester City for Gabriel Jesus, we can confirm.
The Gunners have been locked in talks with City for weeks over the Brazil international, who Mikel Arteta has identified as his priority target to bolster his striking options this summer.
And an agreement was reached between the clubs on Friday, with Arsenal now hoping to finalise a deal for the four-time Premier League winner in the coming days.
