That's when the Box comes into the fold, if you manage to solve the Box, a number of Demons from another world are said to pay you a visit and proceed to take you into a world of eternal pain, but some offer these Demons a trade, instead of taking their soul, the summoner offers to trade it for more than one poor victim.

Along the way Hellraiser seemed to lose it's ''IT''factor, it lost what made it appealing, it was a horror franchise with an intellectual feel. Down the line the cenobites became more like the horror icons of the late 70's and 80's and it was all down hill after that.

Later on in the franchise things became lazy as most of the sequels were other movies that they threw Pinhead in, but along came Hellraiser Revelations, this was written to be a Hellraiser movie.
